Here’s the Plan…

Have you ever made a vision board? i mean really hunkered down, thought about your future, your goals, your desires, what makes you happy, what you want to improve on, what will satisfy your life? Have you? I know for a fact that i haven’t. Until now.

Vision Board

I’ve haphazardly tossed together a little vision board for myself before, but due to time restraints, i didn’t put a whole lot of thought or effort into it. But for the business, I thought it prudent to put some ideas to paper to design a “plan”. A business plan is one thing (one thing i still haven’t tackled), but a vision board is totally different. It’s not based on numbers and demographics and statistics. It’s all based on FAITH – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen,” Heb 11:1.

You know i’m a Believer. No, not belieber, Believer in the One True and Living God. I believe He has a plan for all of us (“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” Jer. 29:11), but that plan is not for us to know, just to follow. (Can you imagine just how big of a mess you would make of your life if you knew exactly what you were supposed to have, but not how to get it? Look at what Abram and Sarai did… Ismail. Talk about the Battle Royale of the Ages!)  I have no clue, ZERO CLUE, what His plan is, what His goal is for me and RSC or how we’re going to get there, but i’m hanging on to this ride for dear life!

But this is where the vision board and “my plan” come in. “Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.” Hab 2:2. We as Christians have been instructed to record our dreams and goals. We are also given the gift to speak into existence what we desire “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive,” Matt 21:22.  That sounds like a vision board to me! I believe it, i speak it, i record it, and in His will, I shall reap it!

So what do i see for RSC? I see growth. Lots of growth. I’m not interested in opening up a “bakery”, a brick and mortar establishment. No. Because then i would have to have inventory on hand to sell to folks who just walk in willy-nilly. Sounds like a normal thing, i know, but consider this: My cakes are made fresh (you’ll have it in your hands within 48 hours of me cracking the eggs) and according to what YOU want. You’re not ordering what i felt like making that day, you’re getting what you want. Fresh. And I’m not tossing out cake after 2 days because it’s not fresh anymore.  By growth i mean i want a solid clientele, several regular weekly orders, space on a restaurant (or 3) menu/countertop, sustainable income, and above all, HAPPINESS. I love what i do, and i want to continue to love it. I fully intend to ride this train till the wheels fall off, hooting and hollering the whole time! You ready to ride with me? Are you my “ride or die” cakefan? Ok, you don’t have to die for cake. Please, don’t die for cake. seriously. it’s just cake…  But thank you for being there for me! Now let’s go!!
